Many public nature trails abound in the area.  One prior site of particular interest is the nature and bird trail at Devil's Backbone State Natural Area - a spot most visitors know little about, yet is a lush haven of wildlife and native vegetation.

The Natchez Trace, the old trail from Nashville to Natchez, Mississippi, flows straight through the area.
